OUR MISSION

Low Carbon Materials is at the forefront of innovation, driving the development of high performance materials that have no compromise to our planet.

INNOVATION PARTNER

LCM leverages materials science to decarbonise construction’s essential building blocks: concrete and asphalt.

We develop high-performance additives designed for rapid adoption, focusing on "drop-in" solutions that require minimal adjustments to existing workflows.

By removing barriers to entry, we transform traditional manufacturing into a planet-positive process without compromising structural integrity.

Together, we are rethinking the built environment—ensuring that sustainable infrastructure is technically superior, effortlessly scalable, and built to last.

ASPHALT

Globally every year, 2-3 billion tonnes of asphalt is used for road maintenance and construction, significantly contributing to carbon emissions.

With our carbon-negative additive, ACLA® we're decarbonising asphalt, all while delivering a high-performance material.

CONCRETE

Concrete contributes to 8% of global emissions.

After water, concrete is the most widely used substance on earth. A small change can have a significant impact.

We produce two sustainable products that address this challenge - OSTO® & ACLA®.

Dave Whitehouse

Head of Research and Product Development at Tynedale Roadstone Ltd.

“ACLA is a fantastic innovative material. It is flexible to use and easy to achieve very low carbon values through all mixes. The benefit of using this product is you can store it virtually anywhere. No special storage or equipment is required. Having used ACLA, I see it as a front-line tool against carbon level reduction in 2025.”

DCC Corporate Director for Neighbourhoods and Climate Change

Alan Patrickson

"This new material will play a key role in carbon reduction and, when used in conjunction with other sustainable materials, allows the whole project to be significantly lower in emissions than standard resurfacing works."

Director for Kensons Highways

David Shelley

"We initially encountered Low Carbon Materials at the Highways UK show. Upon investigating the product, we quickly realised its potential interest for Redbridge."
