Low Carbon Materials Wins BE100 Competition at Blue Earth Summit 2025

Among the nation's leading innovators and investors at the Blue Earth Summit 2025, Low Carbon Materials (LCM) took centre stage. The groundbreaking climate tech firm was announced as the winner of the prestigious BE100 SCALE competition. The victory positions LCM at the forefront of the UK's most impactful and scalable businesses. After a rigorous selection process that saw thousands of applicants narrowed down to just two finalists, LCM was selected for its innovative solutions and significant potential for global impact.

As the winner of the SCALE category, LCM, represented by Co-founder and CEO Natasha Boulding, has secured a significant share of the £600,000+ BE100 Fund.

The Blue Earth Summit is one of Europe's leading gatherings for purpose-led businesses, connecting a community of changemakers, investors, and innovators to inspire positive environmental and social action. The annual BE100 competition is a cornerstone of the summit, identifying and funding the UK's most promising and impactful startups and scale-ups.

"We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to win the BE100 SCALE competition," said Natasha Boulding. "This achievement is a testament to the relentless hard work and dedication of our entire team. To be recognised at a platform like Blue Earth Summit, among so many incredible, purpose-driven businesses, is a powerful validation of our mission. This investment will be catalytic, enabling us to scale our production, expand our reach, and make a truly meaningful dent in the carbon footprint of the construction sector."

The BE100 competition celebrates businesses at three key stages of growth:

  • 🌱 START Winner: Jose Castro, Segura.
  • GROW Winner: Alex van Klaveren, RAFT Energy.
  • 🌍 SCALE Winner: Natasha Boulding, Low Carbon Materials (LCM).

As an Earthshot Prize finalist, Low Carbon Materials is at the forefront of climate tech innovation. The company has developed advanced carbon-negative additives that significantly decarbonise concrete and asphalt.  The new funding will be used to rapidly scale the manufacturing of these materials for the construction industry and beyond.
